I'm not sure how long Debbie has been a visitor for my sister, Verna. It may be one year or shorter or a bit longer. My sister is age 80, blind, only one hearing aide at the moment, with osteoporosis and lots of medical issues, now in a wheelchair almost all the time. When Debbie started visiting Verna she was mobile and so they could go for walks, tea etc. Debbie has also taken her in her car to outings i.e. to her grandchild's birthday Party at the Art Museum and other places. I cannot say enough about how pleased we are with Debbie. My sister LOVES her. She is upbeat, smart, fun-loving and great with all people, including the aged. She is warm friendly and a joy to have around. She will jump into action when she sees something that is needed and will also follow directions as requested. My niece lives nearby to the home where my sister lives but with a young family and work she cannot visit as regularly as we would like. Therefore we have Debbie who is regular and consistent and Verna can always count on her visit and the uplift she brings with her. I would highly recommend Debbie with NO hesitation.

My husband and I both work full-time and we have 3 children. My husband's parents were living in Stittsville when my father-in-law had a stroke and was unable to return home to care for his wife who was very ill. They moved to a seniors' residence, and their home was sold. Several months later, his wife sadly passed away. While all this was happening, I was being scheduled for a hip replacement due to severe arthritis. After having his stroke, my father-in-law was diagnosed with colon cancer and then later, lymphoma. The endless doctor's appointments and chemotherapy sessions a head (3X a week every 3 weeks) seemed impossible to manage. We saw an ad in the Kanata Kourier for Seniors Solutions and arranged to meet with them to discuss our needs. Seniors Solutions has been a godsend this past year, handling all of the medical appointments for my father-in-law. They have been very kind to him, and have always made his comfort and well-being a top priority. During his chemotherapy, they saw he was alone, and offered to stay with him to keep him company. They kept detailed notes for us during all of his appointments to keep us up-to-date. They are very well organized and able to stay on top of everything. I don't know how we would have made it through this past year without them. My father-in-law has finished his last chemo appointment, and is doing quite well.

Karen (the administrator at Rosemount) was raving today about how great you are with Mom. She said you have lots of energy and get Mom motivated, and you don't take No for an answer, just get her moving after lunch and that's what she needs. Thanks so much Debbie, it really is a great support to know that you are doing that for Mom.

It was nice to run into you yesterday. I want to let you know that I asked Mom how she was enjoying having you come and she says you are great (although she is having trouble remembering - or hearing - your name!). She says you are very upbeat and never complain about anything and she is really enjoying her time with you. I am so glad this is such a good fit for her.
The morning PCW Maria also thinks you are great and she knows Mom pretty well as she sees her more days in the week than I do. And the administrator at Rosemount Karen Mulvihill also pulled me aside to tell me that she thinks "that lady from Seniors Solution" is great; she is impressed that you bundle her up and get her out, that you brought your dog the other day, etc. She says the change in my Mom is remarkable. She said she would definitely use you again with other families. Just thought you should know how pleased we all are! Great work!!

You, and the care you give her, was a major factor in her decision to stay right where she is. Debbie, your services, and more important, YOU, have made such a difference for our Mother...she not only has her independence, but your personal care and affection make her feel so secure.  I remember how hesitant she was when I first called her about your services and how delighted she was once she met you. Your company, meaning YOU, gave her her life back and made everything so easy for her this past couple of years Debbie. She not only appreciated having you with her, she looked forward to seeing you. She felt secure with you, and said she could go anywhere as long as Debbie was with her. This was probably the best gift I ever gave to her as it meant so much to her, and to me too. For me it was a relief from worrying about her, and comfort to know she could continue to do the things she wanted to do. She valued your friendship, enjoyed your conversations, and only wanted the best for you!
